Vibram Disc Golf presents the 2013 Players Cup, hosted at Twin Parks Country Club
The World Match Play Championships, aka Players Cup, has developed into one of the most anticipated events of the year for both the spectators and players. From October 18th to 20th, 32 of the world's best men and 8 of the world's best women will compete in our sport's premier bracketed match play tournament.
For the players, the event is three grueling days of non-stop, tense, and emotional disc golf. The event is capped by one of the largest purses of the disc golf season with an average payout over $500 per player, with no pay-in! We are also adding $500 to the FPO Payout and are excited to make the Ladies side a full time part of the Players Cup.
For the spectators, being able to pick the winners via the Pick'em Bracket (ala March Madness) and having every round be a self-contained event ratchets up the excitement level. When we say every shot counts, we mean literally every shot counts.

Building on our history
Mike Barnett and Steve Dodge created the 2010 Player's Cup Match Play event. The event was an overall success and proved that a large scale match play event could gain the attention of the disc golf community. After much soul searching, it was decided that the event should move to a more central location, so we enlisted the help of Texas native Vinnie Miller to help find a Texas venue for the 2011 event.
In early February, Steve Dodge and Vinnie Miller visited several sites to determine which would work best for this year's event. Two courses were the clear favorites after the site visits (Twin Parks Country Club in Austin and the Spring Valley Golf Club in Houston). After discussion with both courses, it was decided that Twin Parks would be our best venue for 2011 and 2012. After 2012, we will need to make a decision as to whether or not the event should rotate around the country or if it has perhaps found a permanent location in the spectacular Texas Hill Country that is SouthWest Austin.

Let's Party!
Six rounds of golf in three days is a lot of work (gosh darn trudgery I tell you!) We've got to make sure we have time to kick back and savor the time. The folks at the Twin Parks Country Club have got us covered.
Table Tennis, pool, darts, glow golf and much more. These parties will be remembered by precious few of us.

October 19-21, 2012: Austin, TX
No money down, $20,000 on the line.
The Players Cup is a celebration of the disc golf season. Want to play? You've got to qualify - and with only 64 spots available, this is a tough tournament to get into.
We are breaking the disc golf tournament mold. The Player's Cup has always been a difficult event to qualify for and now the stakes are even higher. If you qualify to get in, we don't want your money, we just want you! The $100 deposit required to secure your spot will be returned to you (as $50 cash and $50 food vouchers) when you check-in. This means the worst you can do is break even while having an amazing weekend of bracketed match play disc golf.
If you can't play, you can always compete in DGA's Pick'em Bracket.
Also, in 2012, we are ecstatic to welcome the ladies back to the Players Cup. We will be holding an 8 player exhibition bracket for the ladies side. Join us in welcoming them back to the Players Cup!
